I didn't notice that the wireless icon really disappeared.

I used to be on a wireless, but then because of ping issues, I switched to an ethernet cable. It's basically a collection of all possible fixes for when the wireless icon disappears and you are out of a wireless connection. I just wanted to post this to anyone who might be having trouble with this.
